The Best Laid Plans

When we woke from our Semana Santa Sleep the plan was to get Nacho’s car and go to Rota for a beach and barbeque weekend. This would have happened a lot quicker, had Nacho not discovered at the last minute that he had a flat tire. Since it had not been changed in 5 years, he was calling in reinforcements. Miguel!

So at 6PM we had no idea if we were staying or going. So like good Sevillians we went to a bar to wait it out… and also get online to purchase my ticket to return for Feria.

We get a call around 10 saying its fixed and we are ready to roll. Eline and I grab the bags – all of them, including the 10kgs of cheese from the Canaries – and go looking for a corner at a cross between nowhere and somewhere. We ran into Antonio and Jaime along the way who had just woken up from the previous evenings festivities.

An hour later, Nacho and Miguel pull up in the smallest and lowest riding automobile I had ever seen. IF we make it to Rota in that thing I was going to be very impressed.

As we got out of the city and the battle over whose ipod we listened to ended, I looked up and saw a full moon guiding us to the beach. Sevilla just keeps getting better and better. Every day, something new to smile about.
